Standing Part
The longer part of the rope that is not being actively moved while tying.
The standing part is the main length of rope away from the working end. It is often the part that will take the load once the knot is tied.
When following instructions, keep track of which part is standing and which part is moving. This helps avoid reversed or twisted knots.
